Camp RISE (Remember, Inspire, Strengthen, Empower)is a grief camp developed for campers ages 8-18 with a family member who have died from drug use.
At Procter, campers enjoy bonding with their counselors and fellow campers, singing around the campfire each night, swimming in our lake and pool, and creating arts and crafts. Camp RISE, staffed by Procter counselors, will incorporate all the traditional Procter camp activities and traditions, as well as group grief therapy, led by professional therapists.
There is an application process for Camp RISE to make sure that the camper is ready for the camp experience based on our grief counselors interview with the family. The application will open in March.
The cost per camper is $385, however Camp RISE will be offered at no cost to families. To make this possible, please consider sponsoring a Camp RISE camper. Groups from churches are encouraged to sponsor a camper or cabin of campers together. Donate online here.
As Procter develops this program, please contact Andrea Foote if you know an eligible camper who might attend or if you have a skill to share. firstname.lastname@example.org
