Naucratius Hog Hunt
March 12 – 16
This is the fourth year we will gather in Clinton, Louisiana for a wild hog hunt and camp! Participants from chapters in Oklahoma, Western Missouri, Michigan, and DSO will join with friends from Indiana, Virginia, Minnesota, and Louisiana.
This hog hunt contributes to the care of creation by thinning the population of feral hogs, and preventing damage to farmland and local water sources. The majority of the protein harvested from this hunt will be donated to food pantries local to the participants, helping to feed those in need.

Lenten Quiet Day
April 12 — 10 am – 3 pm
You are invited to a Lenten Quiet Day at Procter Center on April 12, 10 am- 3 pm (lunch included.)
This day-retreat will be centered on the theme of “A Commonplace Lent,” as offered by Episcopal Relief & Development and Procter’s Co-Executive Director, Jerusalem Greer.
During this retreat, Jerusalem will lead participants in exploring two uses of the word “common” through the lens of Lent. The first is the sense that we come together to celebrate “all that we are and all that we have in common” — prayer, worship, grace, love, community, service, and so much more. The second understanding of common is a reflection on the ordinary, everyday nature of these communal gifts – the kind of of gifts we find in the soil, the sun, in water, and around the table.
Inspired by the wisdom of desert mothers and fathers, monastics, and other spiritual leaders, this Quiet Day will be infused with prayer, time for group and personal reflection, and time spent listening to the wisdom of creation.
All ages are welcome, and lunch is included!
Rogation Event
Saturday, May 31st – 10am
Help us plan for our diocesan-wide Rogation celebration!
Traditionally, Rogation is celebrated near Ascension Day on which the litany is sung (or recited) in procession as an act of intercession. They originated in Vienne, France, in the fifth century when Bishop Mamertus introduced days of fasting and prayer to ward off a threatened disaster.
In England these days became associated with the blessing of the fields at planting. The vicar “beat the bounds” of the parish, processing around the fields, reciting psalms and the litany. In the United States, they are associated with rural life, agriculture, and fishing. The prayers in the Book of Common Prayer (pp. 207-208, 258-259, 930) have widened their scope to include commerce, industry, and the stewardship of creation.
The BCP also permits their celebration at other times to accommodate different regional growing seasons.
This year, we will celebrate Rogation as a diocese at Procter Farm, with Bishop White leading the procession as we visit various stations that represent our common life.
Participants are invited to bring soil, water, and seeds from their homes or congregations to share and be blessed.
Our celebration will begin at 10 am on Saturday, May 31st, and will conclude with a picnic lunch.
The celebration is free of charge; lunch is $15 per adult and $10 per child, 5 and older.
